Gansevoort South Beach was a luxury oceanfront hotel located at 2377 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Opened in 2008, the 18-story property occupied a large beachfront site in the northern portion of South Beach and combined resort accommodations with extensive dining, nightlife, wellness, and recreational facilities.
The hotel featured approximately 340 guest rooms and 86 suites, including larger specialty accommodations. Rooms were designed with contemporary interiors by Andi Pepper in collaboration with architect Stephen B. Jacobs. Depending on their location within the property, accommodations provided views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay, the beach, or the Miami skyline.
Guest rooms incorporated spacious layouts, contemporary furnishings, high-speed internet access, individual climate controls, upscale bathrooms with tubs or walk-in showers, and hotel services such as room service and concierge assistance. The approximately 3,600-square-foot Presidential Suite offered two primary bedrooms, a living area, full kitchen, entertainment space, and two furnished balconies.
One of the hotel's signature amenities was its rooftop recreation area, which featured a 110-foot swimming pool surrounded by an approximately 26,000-square-foot Brazilian Ipe deck. The rooftop incorporated private cabanas, landscaped areas, water features, and extensive views across the Atlantic Ocean and Miami Beach.
A second infinity-style swimming pool was surrounded by approximately 40,000 square feet of outdoor decking, providing additional areas for lounging and recreation. The hotel's beach club extended the resort environment toward the Atlantic shoreline.
Fitness and wellness facilities included the approximately 45,000-square-foot David Barton Gym and a spa offering treatment and relaxation areas. The property also provided spaces for business meetings, conferences, events, and other guest services.
Dining and entertainment were major components of Gansevoort South Beach. The property included Philippe, STK, Coco de Ville, rooftop food and beverage service, and additional poolside dining options. These venues combined restaurants, lounges, and nightlife within the hotel complex.
Another distinctive feature was the large aquarium installed within the lobby. The approximately 17,000-gallon display incorporated a 53-foot viewing section and housed sharks, stingrays, and other marine life, creating a prominent visual centerpiece within the hotel's public areas.
Additional services included concierge assistance, baggage storage, business facilities, event spaces, guest services, and family-oriented amenities. Its oceanfront Collins Avenue location provided convenient access to the beach, Miami Beach Boardwalk, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, the Art Deco Historic District, restaurants, shopping, cultural attractions, and South Beach nightlife.
